Dusklight ("Dusklight," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Dusklight website, application, and related services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, when it may be shared, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and password.
Passwords are protected using bcrypt hashing. We do not store passwords in readable form and
cannot view your original password.
Profile information
You may choose to provide information such as:
Dusklight does not request precise GPS location or device-location permission. Any location shown in your profile is information you voluntarily type.
Conversations and companion memory
We store messages you send to your companion, responses generated for you, and information your
companion retains as memory. This information is used to provide conversations, preserve
continuity, and personalize your companion's responses over time.
Because conversations may include sensitive or personal information, you should only share information you are comfortable storing and processing through the service.
Voice notes and generated speech
When you submit a voice note, the audio is processed to create a text transcription. Raw
voice-note audio is not intentionally retained after processing is complete, although temporary
copies may exist briefly while the request is being processed or handled by our infrastructure
providers.
When you request a spoken response, the response text may be sent to our voice-generation provider so audio can be created.
Uploaded images
When you upload an image, it is processed so your companion can interpret and respond to it.
Uploaded images are not intentionally retained after processing is complete, although temporary
copies may exist briefly during transmission, processing, backup rotation, or error handling.
Timezone information
We may receive or store your device timezone so your companion can respond with appropriate
awareness of your local time. A timezone is not precise GPS location data.
Age-verification information
Dusklight is intended only for adults aged 18 or older. Where age verification is required,
information may be processed by Stile (stile.id) to estimate or confirm that you meet the
minimum-age requirement.
Dusklight does not intentionally store biometric templates or facial images submitted directly to the age-verification provider. The provider's handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy.
Payment information
Payments and subscriptions are processed by Stripe or another authorized payment provider.
Dusklight does not directly receive or store your complete payment-card number.
We may receive limited transaction information, such as:
Technical and security information
Our application does not use IP addresses for advertising or behavioral tracking. However, our
hosting, security, networking, and infrastructure providers may automatically process standard
technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, request timestamps, error logs,
and security events.
This information may be used to operate the service, prevent abuse, investigate errors, and protect accounts and infrastructure.

Dusklight relies on third-party providers to perform specific services.
AI inference
Conversation content needed to generate a response is sent to OpenRouter and may be processed
by the AI model provider selected for that request.
These providers receive the content needed to process the request. They are not intentionally provided with your password or complete Dusklight account credentials.
Voice services
Text or audio needed for transcription or speech generation may be sent to our voice and
transcription providers.
Age verification
Information required to verify age may be sent directly to our age-verification provider.
Payments
Payment and subscription information is processed by our payment providers.
Hosting and infrastructure
Our hosting, database, networking, email, storage, monitoring, and security providers may
process information as necessary to operate the service.
Each third-party provider handles information under its own terms and privacy practices.
Dusklight does not currently use third-party advertising networks or behavioral advertising trackers.
We may use limited operational logging or first-party measurements to understand service performance, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and count general usage. These systems are not intended to build advertising profiles.
If our use of analytics or tracking technologies materially changes, we will update this Privacy Policy.
Your account information, conversations, companion memories, profile, and settings are generally retained until:
Dusklight does not currently apply automatic expiration to all conversation history.
Deleted information may remain temporarily in encrypted backups, security records, transaction records, or system logs until those records are overwritten or no longer legally or operationally required.

Certain limited records may be retained where reasonably necessary for payment reconciliation, fraud prevention, security investigations, legal compliance, or resolving disputes.
You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your information.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and should contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Dusklight is intended exclusively for people aged 18 or older.
We do not knowingly allow minors to create accounts or use the service. If we learn that information was collected from someone under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete the account and associated information.
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between jurisdictions.
By using Dusklight, you understand that information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, providers, or legal obligations change.
When we make material changes, we may provide notice through the website, application, account notification system, or by updating the date at the top of this policy.
